This rangoli is a combination of three types. First the previous rangoli of the previoous post was erased and the powder rearranged to form the central design with purple hue. Then using a rangoli stencil a design is obtained at the centre. The periphery is then decorated by a freehand rangoli border. A new type of rangoli design indeed!
The first rangoli, when it is erased, the accumulated rangoli powder is used as a central design decorated with freehand rangoli borders to get the above new deisgn (I find it painful to remove a rangoli). Please notice the slight difference in colour of the central patterns of the above rangolis. Thus using very few colours also we can draw a decent rangoli.
The third design. However a simple rangoli at the centre is decorated with a rangoli stencil border and further expanded with single and parallel line patterns.
To view more free hand rangolis please go to Margazhi kolam collection and Colourful rangolis for special occasions. For rangoli with dots go to pulli kolam designs.
