This design can be drawn with 7 dots, 9 dots, 11 dots etc.  Maneuvering around the dots using curved lines comes with practice and the more we practice nearer to perfection we get.  That is the secret of these type of kolams.  Some of us may get intimidated looking at the final design but when we get it right we get a lot of mental satisfaction.  Can be drawn as part of our daily kolangal.

The next kolam uses 6 dots 4 rows then 4 dots on all sides.  A simple design too

Next is a 7 by 1 dot sikku kolam,  easy and beautiful. The images show the steps

One more kolam with 7 to 1 dots similar to the previous one but slightly different ! ( oxymoron !)
